Just installed Kdenlive 0.7.8 on a freshly installed Linux Mint 10, 64-bit, gnome-version.
Problem is I can't add or open anything from my servers over the network. I get the file browser when doing "open" or "add" but when choosing something to open or add I get a "Clip /server/XXX/xxxx.png is invalid or missing, what do you want to do?" I tried placing an image in my home folder and importing that without problems. Then tried placing it on a network share and got the error message above. So, what might be wrong? |

how are your shares mounted? NFS or SAMBA? Who normally has access to the mounted server shares? How are you starting kdenlive, meaning which user is it being started by? Sounds more like a access issue more so then a kdenlive issue.

Gnome vs KDE problem??. If you have Dolphin file manager installed, open your share in that and drag/drop into kdenlive.

It definitely seems to be a KDE in Gnome issue.
Installed Dolphin and tried to just open my test image there and it says no images can be found in /server/XXX/xxxx.png Opening same image in home folder works. I've tried opening both Kdenlive and Dolphin with su rights with the same result. So ,what can I do from here? |

Did some more testing.
In Dolphin I can now all of a sudden open image files with Eye of Gnome, that did not work earlier today... I can open media files if I choose to open them with Mplayer or Rhythmbox. Opening with VLC does not work. I still can't open or import into Kdenlive, neither through open menu nor dragging from Dolphin. But I CAN import by dragging from Nautilus or Thunar, even import kdenlive projects as clips. What is going on!? |

Me too. Baffled that is.
I've got two servers both sharing disks with Samba, both having this same issue. |

Solved it!
I've been trying to access the files in Kdenlive and Dolphin though the Network shares. Then tried going through the actually mounted disks from Root: /media/server/drive/image.png worked like a charm! I'll blame it on my lack of KDE skills... ;) |
