Hi Godwit,

Not sure which version you're using. I'd suggest using the latest version 0.7 which you can install by running the Kdenlive Builder Wizard. You can find it here:

http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=85826

And the support thread (of sorts) here:

http://www.kdenlive.org/bbforum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=591&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

If you *are* using this already, I'd suggest that you run kdenlive by clicking the kdenlive_start.sh script generated in the /bin folder and choosing "GDB Output Capture". If Kdenlive scrashes it will give you a very useful log file to post on a bug report on the bug tracker at http://kdenlive.org/mantis .

This information will help everyone to solve your problem as quickly as possible.

Thanks for using Kdenlive!

Hi cinephilac,

Thanks for the advise, I am using Kdenlive 0.6.0-2192 pm svn 20080520-1x86-64.

so i am out of date (0.7)

I have download the Build Wizard but it will not work for me. The preview shots it shows on its download page are not there (/update sources, compile and install) Preview 2 so cant run it ?

I am a newbie to lunux and downloading programs i tend to use 1click install if i can

however i will try to sort this out and report back .

good luck for tuesday on Kdenlive )0.7

SO are you saying that when you run the script (with kmdr-executor {script_name}) the window looks different, or is it giving you a command line error and not coming up at all? If so, posting the error here may help.

Please do not use kdenlive 0.6 - it is no longer supported.

A new release is coming out later today (unless something unexpected happens). Please use that release.

Re the wizard: Feel free to contact me on irc or on email if you need help.

Besides, compared to Kdenlive 0.6, the current version rocks. Far, far more changes than you could ever reasonably expect in a 0.1 difference between releases.

Hi Cinephiliac

Have now downloaded Kdenlive 0.7 with no problems only had to update FFmpeg and MLT MLT ++ to work.

I am looking forward to using Kdenlive over the weekend . Thanks for all the effort put in by the Kdenlive Team and your self.
