I'm a very new user of Kdenlive. I'm a pro film editor and I use to use AVID products wich is my favorite editing tool (it's just a tool...). I'm turning to Linux and Kdenlive seems to be mature enought to try it.

No problem to install it.

No problem to understand the way it works (importing media, make a very light cut...), but I have noticed two very disturbing problems (maybe just on my computer) :

First : when I play a media, it zooms in it and I can't see the all size of the pictures.

Second : if I want to change the place of the monitor window (for exemple), Kdenlive freeze and I'm obliged to restart my computer.

I'm new on Kdenlive as well as linux (Kubuntu) and maybe I just don't know haw to manage these problems so maybe the problem is me, not Kdenlive.

Some advises will help me.

What version of Kdenlive are you using? You should be using 0.7.2 as other versions are reprecated.

To help you we need more information about the source media and resolution. The best is always to register your camcorder in the database and upload some media somewhere.

I am also a pro. If you are completely stuck, I might help you over the phone. I am French too.

Je te parlais de zoom dans les images en lecture. J'ai essayé avec des formats avi et mpeg. Les deux me posent problème. Ma carte graphique est une Radeon HD 4850.

En ce qui concerne les crash de Kdenlive, c'esta ssez étrange : si je change les fenêtres de place, ça bug (freeze de l'ensemble de l'ordi -> redémarrage). J'ai eu un autre crash mais je ne sais plus quelle manip' je faisait à ce moment-là...

Voilà, si ces symptomes te disent quelque chose, ça m'intéresserai bien d'approfondir mon aventure avec cet outil...

J'ai pas mal d'autres questions, notamment savoir si tu utilise Kdenlive dans tes montages pro, si tu as l'habitude de travailler avec les omf (si oui comment ça se passe avec Kdenlive)... Mais ce sera lorsque j'aurai plus de vécu avec Kdenlive.

En fait, je me rends compte que mon problème de zoom dans l'image, n'est pas lié à Kdenlive. Lorsque je lis une vidéo dans un lecteur quelconque (VLC, Kaffeine... ), j'ai le même problème.

Je ne suis pas plus avancé dans la mesure où je ne sais absolument pas d'où vient ce problème.
