Hello everybody,
I wonder where I'm doing things not-entirely correct. Yesterday I got a JVC everio camera, and I tried to make a short movie of my son lying about and watching his universe (it's a small universe yet). When I connected the camera to my computer I could connect it fine, and got a mount-point. I browsed about and checked which files I could use to use as a clip. It appeared to be in the STREAMS folder, where there was an .MTD file (iirc). I took that file and put it in the timeline. I'm not sure which profile I should take that will work btw, but I chose the "1080p 30fps" profile. There was sound in the clip which I could split up to the audio track easily enough. But the project timeline was about half of the clip's length. And when rendered sound and video were not exactly correct. Does anyone have a clue where I'm going wrong? I think it's the project's profile, but I'm not sure which one I should take. Also, I wondered if I could take the project and change the properties without having to start all over... I didn't seem to be able to find such a thing. At this point on said system I use kdenlive 0.8 on my main system, on the laptop I have 0.8.1; (The main system had some issues regarding compatability of other software that did not enable me to upgrade as of yet... I'll see if I can one of these days, as that dependency has been tracked and resolved, now it's down to having enough time on my hands to perform the upgrade ;-) ) |

Found some info with ffprobe from the video:
Input #0, mpegts, from '00002.MTS': Duration: 00:01:28.80, start: 1.000033, bitrate: 17222 kb/s Program 1 Stream #0.0[0x1011]: Video: h264, yuv420p, 1920x1080 [PAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 50 fps, 50 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.1[0x1100]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 256 kb/s Stream #0.2[0x1200]: Subtitle: pgssub So the .MTD should've been .MTS; I'd like to know how to determine which project setting is the correct one for me. The 1:28.80 duration is correct, so ffprobe does see the info correct. |

Never mind ;-) I found creating a new profile easy enough ;-)
Settings are: Size: 1920x1080 Frame rate: 50/1 (fields p/s: 50) PAR: 1/1 DAR: 16/9 Progressive: ON Works like a charm! |
