Hello All,
Kubuntu 9.04 - KDE 4.3.2 - Kdenlive 0.7.6 Please note that I'm new to Linux, Kdenlive and video editing at all. Last year I had some old Super-8 movies converted to DVDs in a lab. Recently I decided to re-edit those films, ad titles, transitions, soundtracks, and a few audio and video effects using Kdenlive. After a difficult beginning I became addicted to this program - it runs very smoothly and all features I need work fine. My compliments to the developers. Now my question (but first a small intro): all movies were rendered to DVD for playing on TV (4x3). Everything works nicely: the quality is good (at least as good as converted Super-8 allows...), and the soundtracks, transitions, titles and other stuff added a new charm to the movies. Now I want to save them as files to be played on media players (Windows and Mac), but don't know what format to choose in order to achieve good quality of image and sound whereas keeping a reasonable file size. I know almost nothing about codecs, bitrates etc, and need the advice of the experts here. TIA, Pipoca S. Paulo - Brazil |
