I watched the ogg video but don't see any problem (the framerate is very low so maybe I missed something?).
What is wrong with the preview?

problem is when i wanted to see preview in monitor project but begin with head-player go to right and back to left is wrong because go to back left same go to right...but nor render but in monitor project like preview video on timeline...
i need this resolved... sorry i'm worry a lot!! :-(

Do you mean, the left video clip is shown correctly in the preview and the right one is too slow in preview?

What is the codec and resolution of the video clip on the left and what is the codec for the clip on the right, what is your project resolution? Note that seeking in AVCHD for example is very slow. And maybe the preview output has to be scaled. Do you have effects applied to the right clip?

tunjin, if you move forward and decoding of your clip is slow, the preview can still move forward although you are already moving backward. Kdenlive is still seeking forward while you request it to seek backward by moving the timeline-marker to the left. This is because seeking in compressed HD formats like AVCHD is always slow.

Did you view your 3gp movie frame by frame? I did. Between 00:39 and 00:41 seconds the first picture of the right clip shows in the preview when the timeline-marker is quite far right from the beginning of the clip.

Looks like a slow seeking problem to me. And as long we do not know the video format (and more, see above) of the clips, you make it very hard for us to help.

OK, we now know that you are editing .TOD format. wikipedia says: "TOD format is comparable with AVCHD". Your clips have a bitrate of about 23 MBit.

You have applied two effects (square blur and luminosila (or so)) on the .TOD clip which will slow down the seeking additionally because the effects are applied in realtime while seeking.

If you use the forum search, you will find tips, how to transcode your .TOD files to a fast seekable format (DNxHD). But even then the preview might be not completely in sync, if you move the timeline-marker so fast as you do.

You may say "this is not correct" but both high end hardware and openSource software in version 0.8 have limits.

Hi Tunjin, I'm afraid sometimes it's a bit difficult to follow what you're saying, but I think I might understand.

Is it that when you have had the playhead in a clip, when you click and drag the play head to another point on the timeline, when you let go of the mouse button it suddenly snaps back to the previous point? I had this problem a lot on 0.7.8 and had to get into the habit of holding the playhead at the new point. Haven;t worked enough with 0.8 to know if the problem is fixed.

i was try to write: mouse drag go right = forward that is work but strange for preview(not same time and timeline)

Hi Tunjin, the only solution I found was to get into the habit of holding the playhead (timeline marker) for a second or two, sometimes more until it clicked over to the place I wanted it to be.

I get the feeling it's something to do with codecs and video formats that kdenlive and mlt prefer. I was editing DV codec in .mov containers and it happened a lot, but when I used mpeg2 files on .vob or .mpg it didn't seem to happen much if at all.

Kdenlive now deals with mpg2 proxies so maybe that will help I(caveat: I haven't tried or tested proxies so don;t know if they're reliable or if they;'s solve this problem.)

2 months ago i was create project.kdenlive, that project i was used 20 clips from TOD various big files, but it's was work as perfect...
distro was KUBUNTU 10.10 kde 4.5.3, never problem on timeline-playhead(timeline marker), was worked perfect realtime... kdenlive version was 0.7.7..
project.kdenlive was created from march till last month of march.

10 april i wanted install opensuse 11.4 (because i love opensuse)
after installation was works perfect and install kdenlive 0.7.8 from yast packmann and i wanted to test re-open file project.kdenlive
there are problem for playhead, not realtime...kdenlive was not work correct...i was sad and so i must to installation kubuntu 10.10 to back distro...after installation work correct but kdenlive was 0.7.8 have more problem for playhead...not realtime....i was stocked!!!i lose time...i was waiting for ubuntu 11.04 to 28 april. i have a lucky because project.kdenlive have not need job for period april till may..
5 may i installed distro ubuntu 11.04 works correct, and installed kdenlive 0.7.8
re-open file project.kdenlive and same problem on timeline for playhead!!!!after day i was installed kdenlive 0.8 from ppa team kdenlive ufficial but same problem for playhead!! i was angry and very SAD!!! i try to installed distro KUBUNTU 11.04 and installed kdenlive 0.8 SAME PROBLEM SUPERSAD!!!

Today morning I forced to convert tod to avi.
after converted and open in kdenlive works perfect but clips are not original because they are converted..
kdenlive 0.8 is very cool but problem is not work on timeline for playhead...not realtime...
but remember kdenlive 0.7.7 was realtime...maybe mlt? i'm confuse this problem...
