Hi all, newbie here.

I am on Fedora 12, and installed kdenlive via the prepackaged rpms. It seems to run okay.

My issues/questions:

1) in the timeline, only the first and last frame thumbnails are shown. the rest is blank. The video does show up in the project monitor when I move the cursor to a specific time. Are the thumbnails for the full video suppose to be displayed? I would like that so I can see frame by frame in the timeline for editing out specific sequences. (Note: I loaded a "clip" into the project tree, dragged it onto the timeline, and waited for kdenlive to create all of the thumbnails.)

2) I have a capture card that I have been using via v4l2 with mencoder. But I needed to add specific -tv options which I can't see how to do with kdenlive. Any suggestions?

3) Can the current video be saved in its original format without rendering? Some of the time I simply cut/paste into the video and don't want to change to a different format.

FWIW: I have tried four other video editors, and only one came close to what I wanted - more specific actually worked with all of my videos. But that one - avidemux - was fairly simple, with few advanced features. So I am hoping that kdenlive will be able to do what I want. Looks slick enough.

1) that's the way it works now. Displaying every frame would be nice though.
2) In the record monitor select "Video4Linux" and then click on the configure icon, there you should be able to set "Capture params"
3) saving without rendering is not possible

Thanks. That helps quite a bit.

Displaying every frame when zooming to maximum is now implemented in latest svn (rev. 4470)
