Configuring Jog Shuttle buttons

Mon Aug 30, 2010 3:43 am
I have a Contour Design JogShuttle (newer version is here: http://retail.contourdesign.com/?/products/23; mine is v.1, pretty much the same but with 13 instead of 15 buttons), which I recently got working in Kdenlive (http://kdenlive.org/forum/jog-shuttle-only-works-when-run-root).

When I try to configure the buttons in Settings, Configure Kdenlive, JogShuttle, there are only 5 configurable buttons, and the drop-down menu for each button only has three possible options; "Do Nothing", "Play/Pause", or "Cut", which of course means only 2 of the 13 buttons can actually be used for editing.

I'm guessing this is just something that hasn't been implemented yet. However, I was thinking that because there are only two options, I might only be getting the list of options for configuring some other device (a 3-button mouse, perhaps?), and not the options for the JogShuttle.

Should there be more button options for a JogShuttle?

Thanks,

Jog/Shuttle support is generic weak. In fact, there is no explicit support for Contour shuttles as there is in Kino. Sorry, that's all for now unless you would like to help out with coding in that area.
