I realized I needed to add something at the beginning of a .kdenlive project and currently the only way I've found to add space (4 seconds) is to start at the end of a track and move each clip BY HAND four seconds to the right.
Right click and "insert" doesn't seem to work (bug?) and I don't know how to select ALL of a track at once so that I can move it at the same time, just once, 4 seconds to the right. Can anyone help? Thanks! |

You don't say which version you are using. I'm using the new 0.8 and it works fine for me. There are apparently two methods. If you right-click on an empty space on the timeline and select Insert Space, it will insert the space at the spot on the timeline where you clicked. If you use the menu (Timeline->Space->Insert Space), it will insert at the play head. In either case, in the dialog box that pops up, you are given the option of choosing a single track or all tracks. And it then moves all the clips to the right at once, just like you want.

Use the spacer tool - available at least since 0.75. Look for the small icon at bottom right looking like this: <-|
This will move everything right from the moved clip - on all tracks. And you can easily use the snapping on markers to work frame precise. |
