I got rid of the buzz by choosing oss for playback. but now I have no sound at all! Tried rebooting and still no sound. opened alsamixer and made sure all levels were up and unmuted.

sound in kdenlive now works after doing:

sudo apt-get install libsdl1.2debian-all

After leaving it alone for a day the problem is back. wicked crackling and buzz on connect. also the record monitor does not keep up with the video from the camera! KINO worked way better than this for capturing video. this is just bad! how are you supposed to grab video when the record monitor is stuck on one frame throughout the capture process. And the sound is horrible.

Thank god KINO is still availble
