The proxy crash issue is related to an issue in MLT + Kdenlive proxy that created proxy files of the wrong length. This issue is now fixed in MLT and Kdenlive's development versions, and I can create proxies from your 2 files without problems

Hi,
I have latest git/svn/whatever versions as of 1 hour ago, and when I try to load a kdenlive file containing a single gif file as a clip, it shows up as "INVALID". Could this be related to the changes for proxying? The same file worked with some development version of 2 days ago. Trying to proxy that clip (which is not something i'd normally do :) ) immediately shows "proxy crashed", and on the console i see the following notice: kdenlive(11227) EditClipCommand::redo: ---- redoing action kdenlive(11227) Render::getFileProperties: / / / / / / / / ERROR / / / / // CANNOT LOAD PRODUCER: kdenlive(11227) Render::getFileProperties: / / / / / / / / ERROR / / / / // CANNOT LOAD PRODUCER: kdenlive(11227) KdenliveDoc::slotAutoSave: // AUTOSAVE FILE: "/home/xxxxx/.kde/data/stalefiles/kdenlive/composite.kdenlive8zFfile_%2Fhome%2Fxxxxx%2Fkdenlive%2FtestjeK3Bk18zF" kdenlive(11227) KdenliveDoc::xmlSceneList: // FOUD 0 EFFECTS+++++++++++++++++++++ Best regards, Stefaan. Edited to add: it seems to work with a .png image inside the kdenlive file, but not with a .gif image. I can use normal .gif images though (i.e. not embedded in a kdenlive file). |

@StefaanHimpe: Adding a project file containing a GIF image works for me. Can you play your project file with MLT's command line player:
melt project.kdenlive MLT can use 2 different producers to play images: qimage and pixbuf. You can check which of them is used by opening the kdenlive project file in a text editor and look for something like: <property name="mlt_service">pixbuf</property>
The mlt_service (here it is pixbuf) should be displayed in the list when you do: melt -query producers |

Thanks for the information. Today I couldn't repro the problem anymore, despite trying really hard :)
