Hi all,
I'm confused by profiles and interlacing; I wonder if someone could enlighten me please? I have a mixture of 1080/50p and (I think) 1080/50i videos (and also some jpegs, and possibly also lower quality videos) which I wish to combine into a single video, to go on a DVD. Should my "Video Profile" be "DV/DVD Widescreen PAL"? kdenlive doesn't know which of my videos are interlaced and which aren't, right? Should I therefore do something like ffmpeg -i foo.mts -sn -vcodec libx264 -cqp 0 -preset placebo -acodec copy -vf yadif foo.mkv to losslessly deinterlace the 1080/50i videos? Or is there another way that doesn't involve using lots of disk space? Do I then need to do anything to tell kdenlive that the videos are all progressive, rather than all interlaced? If I might later want to make a higher quality version too, should I use the "HD 1080p 50fps" video profile instead, but still render to DVD/"PAL 16:9 VOB"? Thanks Ian |
