MLT ffmpeg syntax support

Thu Feb 14, 2008 7:45 am

When running Kdenlive with latest MLT:

gdb kdenlive
GNU gdb 6.7.1-debian
Copyright (C) 2007 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later
This is free software: you are free to change and redistribute it.
There is NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law. Type "show copying"
and "show warranty" for details.
This GDB was configured as "x86_64-linux-gnu"...
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/kdenlive
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Qt: gdb: -nograb added to command-line options.
Use the -dograb option to enforce grabbing.
[New Thread 0x2afde2adeb60 (LWP 18331)]
kbuildsycoca running...

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread 0x2afde2adeb60 (LWP 18331)]
mlt_properties_set_int (this=0x0, name=0x2afdec55b337 "fo

Is this due to recent MLT changes as regards ffmpeg syntax?

No, that change would not have caused this sort of problem. It's probably related to the reason why inigo is not loading the avformat module to play your files.

Do you have a dual-core computer?

I have only dual-core computers here, I cannot test on single-core.

When installing the new Mlt, please make sure to remove your old Mlt install. Previous Mlt installed its libraries in /usr/local/share/mlt/modules. If you don't remove them, they will interfere with your new install and inigo / kdenlive will not work properly.

Dear Dan,

Whenver I play inigo, MLT displays "invalid file".

This happens on every old inigo file.

But when a file includes a title (a picture), it displays well.

Kind regards,

Jean-Michel

What exactly do you mean with "old inigo files ?". I guess you are talking about old kdenlive project files ? Try opening one of these files in a text editor. What are the producers in it, do you still have the video clips described in the project file, and if you do, try playing them directly with inigo...

Dear JB,

I suspect a problem with MLT.

As explained here : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=457

Kind regards,

Jean-Michel
