please, try to be more precise... what distro are you using? ubuntu? what's the version of kdenlive you're trying to install? do you have ffmpeg installed? are you following these - http://kdenlive.org/user-manual/downloading-and-installing-kdenlive/pre-compiled-packages - instructions?

Dear clintfish99 I found some info in th web explaining that is necessary to remove all "old" files from previous kdenlive installation, but I really don't know what (and how) exactly remove them.

How to check ?

hi katrina, sorry for being so late, i'm experiencing a really frustrating pc breakage, so it's not so easy to follow the forum...

i'm not used to ubuntu 64 bit, maybe, as suggested by clintfish, you should uninstall also kdenlive dependencies (start with ffmpeg and its libraries, they're triggering the error), and then apt-get install kdenlive

if you want to search for old files to be removed, here's a list of 0.7 (can't find anything newer - or older - at the moment) files: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/multimedia/kdenlive/pkg-plist?rev=1.1

keep a note of your actions, and let us know it this works!

Dear clintfish99 and dear xzhayon

TnX a lot for helping, I solved my problem making an upgrade to jaunty alpha 6.

After the upgrade finished I installed kdenlive from synpatic, after installed the repo, and all gone right.

TnX again to you all
