cannot install 0.8 in ubuntu 10.04

Thu Apr 21, 2011 10:24 pm
Problem: dependency hell: for kdenlive 0.8
required on my installation, ubuntu 10.04 the installation of libmlt3 AND libmlt++3
Both cannot be installed together.
Where do I go from here?

0.8 is not yet released ... your are probably installing 0.7.8 or a 0.7.9 svn snapshot

The problem you are facing seem to be a package conflict based on multiple origins. Can you tell precisely the origin of the packages you are try to install, and the list of other third party repositories (ppas) you are currently using.

sunab.

Yup, 0.7.8 - Silly me.

And the repositories entered seem to grow! First time that I have looked carefully... not good.
And the main reason for the upgrade wish is that I was getting black frames inserted in the timeline in the 0.7.7 version, and 0.7.8 (on another computer) seems to have solved this problem.
The origin of the packages is sunab, and then trying to upgrade both by the CLI and synaptic (not at the same time :-) )
All the libmlts of various flavours had been completely removed.
These are the installed PPAs
Many thanks

Christopher
