 hi,

i install kdenlive from binaries, it works without crash but there is not enough effect and ffmpeg is hold.

i install kdenlive with kdenlive builder wizard (local install in a particular folder) and it works but it crash very very often and i can't save the project. More exactly i can save but when i load the project, the clip are not in the same place and somme effect disappear .

Do you think it's a problem of ubuntu 8.1O  ? do you think i must retry with another linux ?

i will try to compile without kdenlive builder wizard ...

I have so much crach that i am not sure it's a good idea to post bug in mantis with gdb log ...

if you have any idea ..

thank

Maybe try the new Ubuntu packages of 0.7.

See here for how.

You say "local install in particular folder" - if you install into /usr or /usr/local you may get issues with existing installations.

Do you run kdenlive_start when you start kdenlive?

I would like to see a build log or crash log from the kdenlive_start script, actually.

Many users have built kdenlive succesfully with the wizard on 8.10 - it should work well....

 hi

i have good news:

now the compiled version with the builder work without any crash .. i don't know really why .. i do just two things: i reboot(!!!!) and i delete the binaries packages (mlt, mlt++, kdenlive) installed before....

when i say 'particular folder' i wan't to say in my home dir, not in usr or system folder ...

but i have always the other issue .. sometimes when i launch my saved project, i lost the position of some clips .. so i must redo the work ... it's doesnt happen at every save/load project but at least one times for 5 save/load projects ..

May be, but i'm not sure, it comes after use of spacer tools (that i don't like, i prefer the old method where you select all the clips you want to move) ..

i will test again monday an tell me if you want i open a bug (it will be difficult to reproduce i think if i am the only one with this problem)

thank again

We would definitely want a bug on this, if it is something that happens regularly.

hi

i test today and i can't reproduce the problem of save project..

May be it was a problem with an old project or the use of the spacer tool ...

now all is fine (no crash and it's very faster than 0.6 svn)

thank you again for your help ...
