Save clips *into* file?

Mon May 16, 2011 10:17 pm
Hello,

Is it possible to save the clips used in a project into the file, rather than pointing to the path of the objects?

Sorry if this is pointed out elsewhere, but I couldnt find anything.

Thanks

I surmise it's not possible seen the lack of posts.

The reason why I ask, is because I, and most probably other computer users as well, move files a lot. Albeit one file or all files used as clips, if it's not in place, there's no movie.

There is the possibility of saving all files into the project folder. But if i move my project folder or the parent directory, I face the same problem.

Does anyone know a way to conveniently file manage kdenlive project addressing problems descripted above? And editing the xml-file is not an option :)

Hi.

No, saving video clips into the xml project file is not really possible.
In current Kdenlive's svn. there is a new feature called "Archive Project" in the "File" menu.

It will copy all necessary clips & files into a destination folder, makin it easy to move the project to an external drive or to another computer.

If you afterwards move the project folder, Kdenlive will say it does not find the files and open a dialog. There, you just need to select "Search recursively" and point to the new folder and all clips should automatically be adjusted to the new path...
