Editing gives green frames

Wed Oct 31, 2007 1:45 pm

First of all: Kdenlive seems to be awesome software, really great!

(I'm using version 0.5 on OpenSuse 10.2)

After having it installed, I had some trouble with stuttering audio (and video), which seem to be gone for some strange reason now. But from the beginning I got trouble if I edited the .mpg files I was using (mp4 gives no trouble). Adding effects of splitting the film would turn the film into green frames. Further on: every time I use Kdenlive it crashes. After some research I noticed that it was consuming a huge amount of memory (over 2 GB). I wonder why it consumes that much (although the file itself was 147 MB). It makes my pc incredibly slow (I have 1 GB of ram, and an AMD Athlon 2600+, 1.9 GHz).

I guess this problem is mainly caused by the drivers I use (x11 and alsa). Could it be caused by those? (Other drivers don't work)

I hope someone could help me :)
