No sound after installation from the repositories

I'm currently using Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10.

When I had Feisty I installed kdenlive (version 0.4svn...). I think I installed with the .deb-packages from Trevinos Website (without adding the repository to my /etc/apt/sources.list but that shouldn't change anything). I sometimes had problems with the sound, but when I closed all "sound-programms" (Banshee, Totem) and restarted kdenlive it generally worked.

After the update to Gutsy I wanted to have kdenlive version 0.5 (now included in the official repositories). So I deleted the version I had. That made my package-manager freeze because the package mlt is called libmlt in the Ubuntu repositories (I think that was the reason). I finally got mlt and mlt++ deleted. So I installed kdenlive and its depedencies from the Ubuntu sources. Everthing works fine, only that problem that I just don't get any sound from kdenlive (KNotify works).

If I open Kdenlive in a terminal, I get this:

X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 171

I thinks it's that last message where the troubles begin. In fact, in the Kdenlive configuration I have only one choice for the audio-device "Default". Kdenlive doesn't recognize my audio-devices.

In your Wiki I read:

Quote:
Note that Treviño's unofficial package has been reported to cause problems under Gutsy (Ubuntu 7.10) when trying to remove it, so you might have problems with it under 7.04, too.

Is that my problem? But I didn't find anything about this Trevino-problem. Has anybody else experienced something similar to me?

Could this mlt to libmlt renaming be a problem?

Please help me because like Kdenlive is now, I just can't work. Thanks.

I really wonder if this is caused by my system itself (if Kdenlive 0.5 can't work with my system) or by this weird updating from the Trevino-version.

But, if you can't tell me what to do, you could tell me what this Trevino-problem mentioned in the wiki is. Please.

Thanks to this bugreport: http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=31
