I use the Free Mandriva 2009. Kdenlive works on it but I can't obtain the french interface.

I 've seen the switcher language in the help menu but it doesn't work (the americain us language is the only proposition even if I try to add another language)

- is it a Mandriva's pb ?

- or the french translation isn't yet ok for Kdenlive

Is there any file to copy somewhere to obtain the french interface ?

I am sorry to say, that it seems noone really knows how to fix this, but you may try if the recommendations works for you.

Because I use the mandriva package, I had a doubt about the place of the kdenlive.mo file; I tried a find request on the / and on /home/user

Surprise :

I don't have any "kdenlive.mo" on my mandriva 2009! (I found it on my 2008, of course)

so I can't copy this file in

Nothing in /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/

and I understand why it speaks english ...

Is there any place on the web where I can download it to try your solution?

Second information to help you (and to help me :) ) : I have the same pb with Kaffeine; so I think that the pb is over Kdenlive ?

If there are no kdenlive.mo file in your rpm, then you should probably bug the package maintainer to fix it.

Please also check if there is a fr.mo file in the rpm.... I am getting a little confused about this stuff right now.
