Hi videoeditors out there! I am new to the idea of changing to linux, maybe you can help to make a decision. Is it possible to edit seriously programmes with this software and is it like Avid or Premiere from the point of quality (sorry not native english). Is it a real alternative? I produce about 12 documentaries a year and I am really fed up with this windows and adobe policy. Thx a lot |

Hi! Its really difficoult to make some job with kdenlive. There are to many bugs and to few features. I've done 2 works with kdenlive and it was really hard do work with it. But noneless, maybe the next Version will be better. So wait for kdenlive 0.6, and then try it! Bye |

Eric, We are making the move and not because Kdenlive is a good as Premier or Avid, not because of windows and adobe policy (though we agree with your unstated criticisms) but because we believe this is the way forward. We also believe that Kdenlive gives us the best chance of developing a powerful editing tool. We are not documentary producers but historical archivists which means our demands technically are not as great as yours BUT... would suggest that you take seriously the possibility of kdenlive even if its something you develop in the background. Best Wishes, Jack. |
