I don't like it very much, especially not on the timeline.

uncheck the "use Open GL for video playback" checkbox in Configure Kdenlive - Playback.

No effect... also what in the world would this option have to do with turning Audio Scrubbing on or off?

On my system you only get audio scrubbing to work with "use Open GL for video playback" checked. So on my system this is one way to turn it off.

Ok, thanks anyway! I've gone through all available options already... Afraid I'll have to make a request for this in due time, unless I've overlooked the option :/

YES! Here's how I could turn Audio Scrubbing off:

Go to SETTINGS, click CONFIGURE KDENLIVE (Ctrl+Shift+,), go to PLAYBACK, un-check the box near the ENABLE AUDIO SCRUBBING, and voilà! It's off!

P.S. I really hated working in KDenLive due to this annoying scrubbing sound playing itself all the time but now it feels so much smoother when I edit, my brain doesn't have to ignore this annoying sound anymore! o)

Very glad to hear, I'll make sure to check it out next time I give another go at Kdenlive.
