Yo,

I using this software for the first time, everything is going okay apart from the odd crash or 10...

but the problem is that, once I have added clips to the timeline, I also want to add an audio file.

I have chosen an mp3 file and have added it to an Audio Track - Also tried adding to a video track as suggested in another post.

The mp3 plays fine when it's clicked on in the Clip Monitor, it adds to the timeline fine. but when the timeline is played through the clip remains silent and the audio from the video clips play fine. I have muted the sound from the video and that hasn't made any difference, i try'ed to add effects like volume in the hope it will do something, but alas, nothing.

anyone help on this?

okay, as luck would have it, i restarted the whole program from my shell and it's fine - that's about the 3rd time i have done it in a week and it starts to work the second i make a post about it.

When in doubt, restart :D

Well it might also be solved by forcing a timeline sync "View -> Sync Timeline". If that works you can also assign a short-cut like Shift-S to it via the "Settings" menu, that's what worked for me anyway.
