SOLVED: Title clip lengths in 0.7

Mon Oct 27, 2008 9:09 pm

Hello:

I'm not able to figure out how to specify the length of a title clip. There doesn't seem to be an option. Am I just being stupid?

Thanks for a great product -- using it with a bunch of middle and high school students in a rural school in Eastern Oregon, U.S.A.

Hi Bob

Here is how to currently do it

- create the text clip

- add the clip to the timeline

- move your pointer/cursor to the end of the clip on the timeline, just inside the clip

- grab the animated green triangle, and move it to the right

- watch the clip length change.

Feel free to document this on the wiki if you have time ... :-)

By the way, the default length for title clips is taken from Kdenlive Settings dialog.

Go to the tab "Misc", there is an option to set the default image clip duration. This will set the duration for image and text clips (of course would be better to specify it in the settings dialog since nobody can guess that...)

Hello again --

Thanks for the replies!

I'm still having anomalous problems. Sometimes clips show up as having a length of 1 frame, not a number of seconds -- even though the default is set to 5 seconds in the settings.

SOLVED: Title clip lengths in 0.7

Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:46 pm

I think my problem had to do with MLT not being compiled with qimage support.

I was experiencing another problem and submitted a bug report here:

http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=310

Not a bug -- just human error on my part.

Instructions were:

Quote:
In the kdenlive builder script, uncheck "Disable qimage support", and give the path to your Qt4 install (usually /usr/lib and /usr/include/qt4 )

I teach a bunch of middle and high school students who will be extremely thankful for the support offered to kdenlive!

THANKS!

:D
