Ever since I upgraded to rev 4391 and now to 4400 via the Builder Wizard, I've been having problems with clips in the timeline not staying put. Each time I edit the timeline and exit Kdenlive, when I reopen, the clips have been scattered as if a tornado had gone through parts of the timeline. Some parts are OK and remain as edited but other parts have been so rearranged that I may have to start all over again.
I've experienced this on two different computers running two different distributions, Suse 11.2 and Mandriva 2010. Either this specific project is somehow corrupt or there's something wrong in the new revisions. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Waynevid |

My projects work well.
Could you please test other projects? Maybe also upload your project file. |

My theory is that this happens because the project is too big. I'm currently testing this with several projects of varying sizes.

Apparently, it's not only the size that matters, it's also the version. When I load older Kdenlive files (about 1 year old or older) strange things happen on the timeline, usually to title clips and yellow transition boxes. These things happen when I load the kdenlive file. Some clips get shifted out of position. Others get duplicated near to each other. Some get shrunk to 0 seconds and all that's left of them is a thin line, which can be stretched to its original size. And some clips are not affected at all, no matter how many times I open and close the project. I tried locking each track before saving; that doesn't work. I tried grouping several clips together hoping they would remain in relation to one another. That doesn't work. I've even tried adding transparent spacer boxes between pairs of title clips along the whole track; stuffing the whole track and removing all empty spaces. This doesn't work either.
After editing for a while, some clips do not move anymore and can't be deleted. Also, the project monitor moves out of sync with the timeline. I have to get out of Kdenlive and then go back in. Then the shifting starts all over again and I have to spend time moving the clips back to their proper locations. I'm using svn revision 4427 now but somewhere around rev 4391 (could be a little earlier) these strange things started to happen. Prior to 4391, things were fine. My workaround is to recreate each old project from scratch, one clip at a time in the new revisions. Waynvid Mandriva 2010 |

Hmm, might be introduced in rev. 4389 (http://kdenlive.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/kdenlive?view=rev&revision=4389) also I don't think so. Maybe you could downgrade to various revision around 4391 and test.
