After a successful install I found I couldn't capture from firewire, on this forum I found the answer (as below) and this has solved the problem. However, every time I log in to Kubuntu, I need to open the terminal and type chmod 666 /dev/raw1394 to enable capture. I could write a script to do this on startup but there must be a better way! anyone know?

Thanks for the link, however I just get a carat style prompt when checking the firewire stack in Kubuntu. Any ideas?
Also, is there a way I can donate? Anyone?? |

Well, in the end I just wrote a script to chmod 666 /dev/1394 and had it run on startup. Works ok shame I couldn't fix it properly though!
