Video fps and Project fps

Wed Jul 21, 2010 4:11 pm
Hi, I've got a few question about how kdenlive manages fps.

1) If I a have a 24 fps project and I add a 25 fps video, how does kdenlive handle the fps difference? Does it adjust the video speed to the project speed? If not, does it add a smooth interpolation (transition) between asynchronous frames?

2) What does the force fps option in the advanced clip options do? Does it change the actual speed of the video?

3) How would you transcode a 25fps video into a 24fps video? Would you do it in a 24fps project and use the speed effect at 96%?

Thanks a lot!

1) simple frame dropping
2) it overrides the detected framerate of the clip. Yes, it affects the speed, but it is intended as a correction tool for interoperability issues.
3) Use a 24fps project but no speed effect.
