I have jaunty and right now 0.7.3 is in beta and it keeps crashing way too many times to count. I'm just trying to throw together a quick 2 minute montage and this is making it impossible past cutting 2 clips and adding fade out and fade in.... |

if you can't find packages, i suggest you build your own copy of kdenlive with the builder wizard: http://kdenlive.org/user-manual/downloading-and-installing-kdenlive/builder-wizard
you'll then have the latest svn checkout with lots of bugs corrections (and maybe you can also choose to build a "release" version...?) |

lol, I'm no code guru so really I just have to wait until someone does it... though I?e found a few patterns on how it crashes. If you play a clip in the project tree and try to drag and drop it into the timeline it crashes kdenlive and gives signal 11 I believe. It also crashes if you resize a clip, or add the fade in to black effect to h.264 clips. Also if you add 2 videos one underneath each other in the timeline and play one it tends to crash. Also found out what causes jittery video. It happens when you add files in the project tree that are in an external media, my guess was that it coudln't handle playing the clips out of the media especially when trying to edit them because they are so large. So I tried putting the clips into my harddrive and playing them and that worked. I'm guessing kdenlive would have to make some sort of a temp file of the clip on which it does the actual editing and then saves back to the external media when its done??? I'll add some of those bug reports you get next time I use it... |

I do not have these problems on Jaunty, but I build from source using the builder wizard. |
