Hi
I am using kdenlive 0.7.5 on Ubuntu 9.04. I have a general question on how to export a kdenlive project for someone else. I created a new kdenlive project in a new subdir (/myproject/) which contained the new project.kdenlive file, the resources (*.avi and *.jpg files) and the kdenlive directories ladspa, thumbs and titles. I thought that it must be possible to just send the whole directory (myproject) to a friend who can continue editing. But this produced a lot of trouble as all the paths were wrong in the project.kdenlive file. The resource paths in there are absolute. So what I had to do is to change all paths in the project file manually. Is there no other way to do this? Some sort of a clean export? Or maybe even some form of packaging to a single compressed file? Why are no relative paths used? Of course the same problem happens if just the project directory is renamed ( /myproject -> /mypr2009 ). Thanks for any answer! |

We need a .kdenlive-gz profile or something. I remember when I was using Vegas there was a setting kind of like that.

Yes I find this a very irritating and would love to see all path to be relative, because I will archive my projects to an external disc and everything will get messed up.

so should I make a post to the "Brainstorming" forum or a feature request?

This used to be a feature in Kdenlive for KDE3 but was not yet ported to KDE4. To ensure this feature will be added, please open an issue on the bug tracker and select "feature". It will be added on the to-do-list.
