I love this program and have made some good vid's, but all my finished work will only play on my unbuntu jaunty machine not matter what format I render or burn to. On windows they either don't work, stutters and is out of sync and when I try them in dvd players nothing happens. Some hlep would be appreciated as I'm just a user who has changed to linux and know nothing of the programming side.

You are lacking specifics. You have not specified a format you want to try to use and the software you are trying to play back with on Windows. There is not a whole of formats supported directly by Windows, and it may require the addition of software components or other players such as VLC or QuickTime Player. Or, just upload something to an online video sharing service and use a web browser with Flash or native HTML5 Ogg Theora support (Firefox/Chrome/Opera).
