Hi,
I've already used it before, but now Kdenlive crashes whenever I try to import a clip into the project. This is the error log: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/559923/ ~$ kdenlive -v Qt: 4.5.2 KDE: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2) Kdenlive: 0.7.8 Is there something I can do to solve the problem? TIA Best regards, MarcoA |

I found that the crash occurs when I try to import an mp4 (H.264/AVC) video made using a Samsung camcorder (SMX-F30BP).
I also used the how-to in http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9114176&postcount=967 to update ffmpeg and x264 on Ubuntu 9.10, and kdenlive (and dependencies) from https://launchpad.net/~sunab/+archive/kdenlive-svn (0.7.8+svn20110129.r5358-0ubuntu0~sunab~karmic1), but the issue is still present. I suspect the culprit to be melt, as i get the following error: $ melt file.mp4 [mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2 @ 0x18152e0]ISO: File Type Major Brand: avc1 Segmentation fault Is it true? Is there something I can be to solve this without converting all files to something edible by kdenlive? Thanks! Best regards, MarcoA |

Does ffplay at the command line play these files? If so, then please file a bug in kdenlive (or mlt) and provide a small sample for debugging. If ffplay can not play them, then you should report it to ffmpeg project with a small sample.
