Greetings,
I understand that keyframes permit range limits for some effects. Is there any other way to restrict the extent of an effect, e.g. applying the fx within a defined zone ? I like the arbitrary range setting in LiVES, would be nice to see it in Kdenlive too. Actually I have a list of things I like in LiVES that would be neat in Kdenlive (not the VJ stuff though). :) Best, dp |

Hi.
Currently, the only way to limit an effect is to cut the clip where you want the effect to start / stop. Applying an effect to only a part of a clip is supported in MLT, but not (yet) in Kdenlive. |

@j-b-m - Okay, thanks for the tip, that should work fine for my present purposes. I like the keyframes-enabled effects, is there a plan to enable all of Kdenlive's effects for keyframe limitation ? |

Adding keyframes support needs some work in MLT. I think the frei0r effects should allow keyframes, but we need to improve the MLT / frei0r interface (there was some preliminary work by Marco if I remember correctly...).
Several other MLT effects do not support keyframes, and would need some more work. Dan Dennedy is also planning to improve keyframes support in MLT to have a generic way of handling that (it's on the roadmap: PropertyAnimation ). |

@j-b-m - Thank you for the update. I look forward to keyframes support for all fx, but meanwhile your suggestion (cutting the clip into sections) works fine. The results are what I wanted.
