I couldn't see any similar problems with Clip monitor elsewhere in the forums, its not black, white or transparent, so..
I made a video of problems with akregator notifications with recordMyDestop in Ogg format. I thought this was too long to upload to bugs.kde.org, so wanted edit it down.
I created a new Project Profile for my screen size and imported the video, but it just shows up as, well... multicoloured interference .. is the best way I can put it, in Project Tree, Clip Monitor and Timeline.
It plays fine in kaffeine, kmplayer etc., but fails tests suggested elsewhere here and looks like the attached image when playing in mlt/ffplay (taken with KSnapshot, which hasn't rendered the apearance of the clip monitor correctly).

Size: 1280x1024
FR:15/1
PAR:1/1
DAR:4/3

Setup

Mandriva 2010.0
Kdenlive 0.7.6
DE: KDE4, no 3D, no Compiz, no Metisse, no compositing in KWin
Graphics: ATI ?RV350 AS [Radeon 9550]

We have poor support for editing Ogg Theora. Right-click the clip in the Project Tree and choose Transcode > Fix Ogg Theora. If that does not work, try the transcode to Lossless Matroska.
