Hi
I want to thank the owner of this project I have a question Why is there no support for a 3D in his title? Are there any additions 3D in kdenlive ? Thanks |

Very little 3d look can be achieved by rotating items.
The problem is that 3d titles aren't the most important thing in video editing and we have very few developers. There there are very good tools for 3d and also 3d animations like Blender. You can export your 3d in Blender and then import them in Kdenlive. |

Why no 3D... Because Kdenlive would need many more tweaks and features much more important than 3D titles. Openshot now gives 3D titles based on Blender, but for any serious work I would say that 3D titles (as well as most transitions...) should never be used.
I suppose it's one of the differences between Openshot and Kdenlive, Openshot being destined to be a simple, functionnal video editor, and Kdenlive aiming higher in the way of advanced features, for more advanced user (who will probably just use Blender if they want to add some 3D titles). If someone would be willing to code something similar to what OpenShot does, he would be welcome, but it would only be a bonus feature, not something that would actually make Kdenlive more usable. |

3D titles will give a nice feature to make title clips. I would like this feature !!!

As others said, to make title clips with fancy stuff, including 3D, use Blender. You don't have to dig its modeling capabilities, some text objects, projection planes and/or the compositor should give you anything you need. There's even a manual just on compositing with Blender. Not the cheapest of books, but still cheaper than a licensed copy of After Effects - or the fine + time in jail for using an unlicensed copy ;)

But on the other hand, I suspect that someone wanting to add a 3D title effect to a video will not be willing to spend many hours (at least) learning how to use the few usefull Blender feature for that. I agree it's by far the best solution for advanced users who know 3D and/or Blender (I do all compisoting in Blender, I've never been convinced by the limited compositing features in Kdenlive), but Blender is not (at all) user-friendly.
I would actually be more efficient to use OpenShot to create the 3D title, then export the video and import it in Kdenlive. |
