Black/White vertical line

Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:23 pm
Hi,
I have Kdenlive 0.7.6 with some photos. I want to make photo slideshow with transitions effects (composite & zoom & ...). But after rendering I see on right side black/white blinking vertical line. This line is available during editing too.
I've tried different colors for background and transparency, but line still exists.

My project is DV/DVD PAL. System Kubuntu 9.10 64bit.

You can see it on attached images

It looks like the image is padded. It is scaled to fit your project resolution, but because the aspect ratio does not match the project, it is padded. You can use the Crop effect to eliminate some part of the picture to make the aspect ratios match. The "center" option in the crop effect parameters panel will do this automatically.

Hi,
I've added crop filter to every picture with enabled option "Automatic center-crop". Result is same. You can see preview here: http://disk.jabbim.cz/coudy@jabbim.sk/50a.ogg

Your problem is not what I originally thought. The problem is that it is not compositing to the full width for some reason. I do not know right now if you can fix it yourself or I have to make a code fix without a full scale investigation, but I have another commitment that prevents me from that effort right now. In the meantime, you should just avoid these attempts to make smooth pan and zoom effects in kdenlive because they look like ****. This is a known issue for which there is no good in-built solution. This is planned for 2010, so please stay tuned.
