Hello kdenlive community!
I'm glad to have found a program such as kdenlive that allows me to create videos almost as easily as it is possible on Windows while it offers even more control over the output parameters and effects! However I'm having problems with this software no one else on the net seems to have: I'm using kdenlive on an OpenSuse 11.2 system. The hardware this system is running on is worth putting it in a museum but it works (so far...). Apart from the fact that kdenlive has a rather bad playback performance (Ulead Video Studio under WinXP worked much better) on my system it crashes very often (which is apparently not caused by any RAM insufficiencies). That's all acceptable when you look at the version (0.7.7.1). But the most annoying thing about it is the configuration of video, audio and transition effects: When I place an effect in my project, do anything else and then return to this effect, the parameters seem to have changed although I haven't told kdenlive to do so. As you can imagine this does not motivate me to start any kind of bigger project... I first thought that's because this software is still under development. But it seems that no one else has encountered this kind of problem and so I wonder if I'm doing something wrong... Does anyone know what to do? (Please excuse any errors concerning the English language) |

For the playback issues you might consider trying different videoformats, I have had most stable playback (on my old computer) with plain DV and MPEG2 sofar.
If the Effect bug happens everytime it might be worth filing a bugreport for it to help improve Kdenlive! See this page: http://kdenlive.org/bug-reports |

I haven't found any video format that would make the playback more stable...
The issue about the effect bug is still a mystery... It does not happen every time and I'm now trying to reproduce the bug so that I might be able to file a bug report. Thanks for your help! |
