fade to black [red]

Fri Jun 03, 2011 3:53 am
relatively newb to kdenlive.

In short, my transition fade to/from black is really a fade to/from red. Is there a way to reset the color pallet? The transition was correct until a couple days ago, not sure if the change was due to a dist-upgrade or an accidental change by myself.

I'm attaching three screenshots of the problem I'm having. I have a still clip that I have put a fade from black effect on the front of the clip.

The first screenshot is just a few frames into the clip. The second screenshot is near the end of the effect, the third and last is a screenshot with the effect completed.

The Linux box I am using is running Debian Testing (AMD64). I have also loaded Kdenlive on my Debian Sid box, and I do not have this problem. The fade to black is a true fade to black and not a fade to red.

I'm stumped on this one....

I have installed Kdenlive on my AMD64 laptop and I also have the same problem. So this might be a AMD64 related issue.

Looks like this may be a 64 bit bug. I have installed Kdenlive on my 32bit netbook and the transition is a fade to black.

Several of the other effects cause this too. Is anyone else is having this problem????

At least someone else seems to have a similar issue on a 64bit system:

Now if you say it worked a few days ago, I wonder what caused this...

If the problem was due to a dist-upgrade, the packages below would be the cause. I try to keep record of what is changed for every dist-upgrade and this is the closest to when the problem began.

The following packages will be REMOVED:
gstreamer0.10-plugins-really-bad
The following NEW packages will be installed:
gcj-4.6-base gcj-4.6-jre-lib libgcj12
The following packages will be upgraded:
autoconf-doc gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-plugins-good
libdrm-intel1 libdrm-nouveau1a libdrm-radeon1 libdrm2 libffmpegthumbnailer4
libgstfarsight0.10-0 libpaper-utils libpaper1 midori nvidia-kernel-common
octave3.2 octave3.2-common octave3.2-htmldoc pdftk pkg-config
