I think this is an issue with the hardware I am using. I want to confirm this before filing a bug.

When I pull either the clip or project monitor off the kdenlive canvas the icons, the duration and the increment ticks of the monitor disappear. The area where the control items normally appear is just grey with white borders surrounding the regions where the icons appear. The duration indicator disappears completely.

If I drag the monitor back into the canvas the icons, increment ticks, and duration reappear.

I am using an older Compaq nx7400 laptop with an onboard intel card, using the VGA out port. I was trying to set this system up to use an external monitor to play the project monitor.

Can other people do this with better dual monitor hardware?

I am using:

Version 0.7.9 (rev. 5509)
Using KDE Development Platform 4.6.1 (4.6.1) "release 390

uses the i915 driver
