Hi guys,
I am a bit stumped by trying to get this to work in KdenLive. I can start with a 720p 24 PS profile for editing. When I import footage or image sequence it doesn't matchup with the sound. Looks to me it comes in on the timeline at 30 FPS, as I had a similar problem in After Effects which got solved by Interpret Footage set to 24FPS.

Secondly I don't really know how to export at 24FPS as the only two options in format dropdown I see are NTSC and PAL.

I have to reboot in Windows everytime for a small edit if I wanna check anything.

Can someone clear my confusion ?

24fps works for me with Pentax DSLR video source. You can force frame rate by RMB over clip or select all clips in project tree -> Properties -> Advanced tab -> Force frame rate.

Where do you see only PAL & NTSC?

Is there a render profile I can use for 24FPS or maybe you could show me what to change in the code below to make it 24 FPS

This is for H264 at PAL with 25000k preset.

The HDV options you're looking at are for mpeg2 4:3 PAR ie 1440x1080 is that what you want. **EDIT** Sorry I see that may be just default highlighted.

The H.264 option in the list will encode based on your project frame rate rather than NTSC / PAL at 60i etc

I'd ignore the PAL / NTSC render profiles the 'FORMAT' option has been removed in 0.8.1 so you could choose from the others or create your own if the profile doesn't exist.

If you want 0.8.1 you can get it from sunabs PPA if you're on a Debian based distro.

Interesting. I render a 24FPS video with NTSC and VLC shows it as 24FPS. I have the sunlab ppa repo in my package manager, I am on Kubuntu, and it doesn't show any updates so KdenLive should be the latest.

I will check again anyway, I think my problem is solved, let me try a few other videos and see.

Be aware that if you add the PPA, you need to close the Package Manager and reopen it, then try again. Reload is not enough.
