I need some help, please.
I have just recently found Kdenlive, most impressive. Have installed the latest version from http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/tutorials/7064/1/ so am up to date. Using Ubu 9.10. Have throughly checked my system, read all I can off this site, but in spite of my efforts still cannot connect to the camera. I do know the system is loaded correctly as I can use dvgrab to download a file, it also works on Windows. I really would like to get out of the clutches of Adobe and their high priced upgrades, but need Kdenlive to achieve this. Could someone please take pity on a ubernewbie Ubuntu user and give me some advice. |

Maybe this thread can help:

Tried the thread, followed where I could, but got a lot of errors in Terminal. My knowledge doesn't extend that far.
Now I have an error after trying dvgrab "Error...No camera exists" Prior to following that thread I could use dvgrab, now that has gone!!! Help, please. |

What exactly did you do?
And what were the errors you got? |

I tried to follow the thread suggestions. Came to the chmod permissions entry, then it fell apart, the programme froze and I had did a reboot to clear the problem.
It did install a lib file, but I lost the name when the system froze. I am thinking of removing Kdenlive complete, then do a reinstall see if that will fix the problem. Comments? Disregard. I went onto Ubuntu Forums found the answer. A lack of permissions fixed the problem. Thanks for the help! |
