Hi,
I have just installed kdenlive on my MAC OSX Snow Leopard, following the step : Install MacPorts Follow these guidelines: http://guide.macports.org/index.html#installing If MacPorts is already installed on your computer, upgrade installed ports: %% sudo port -d selfupdate %% sudo port -u upgrade outdated Install Kdenlive Run the following command: %% sudo port install kdenlive It has taken a lonnnng time but it seems to be done. My problem is in the subject. Could you please answer to these two both questions : Is there some specific command lines to execute to launch/start kdenlive? Is it possible to just have a shortcut on my applications folder to start kdenlive? When i launch opt/local/bin/kdenlive i have "drkonqi a quitté de manière imprévu" (crashed) Thank you very much! |

Hopefully you followed the directions to startup dbus properly and set the permissions on the KDE preferences folders. Then, in a terminal:
open -a kded4 open -a kdenlive I put Kdenlive in my dock by dragging /opt/local/bin/kdenlive.app to it. In Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu, locate it and drag it. |

Hi,
I've the same problem. I have just installed kdenlive on my MAC OSX Leopard, following the step : Install MacPorts Follow these guidelines: http://guide.macports.org/index.html#installing If MacPorts is already installed on your computer, upgrade installed ports: %% sudo port -d selfupdate %% sudo port -u upgrade outdated Install Kdenlive Run the following command: %% sudo port install kdenlive %% sudo chown -R $USER ~/Library/Preferences/KDE %% sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.freedesktop.dbus-system.plist %% sudo chown $USER /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist %% launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist % open -a kdeinit4 %% open -a kdenlive All's right, until I type the last command line. Drkonqi and Kdenlive are launched (their icons - a film and a ladybug - appear in the dock) the they crash... I tried to type the last two command lines with the X11 terminal, it ain't change anything... If i type %% open -a kded4 it answers me : LSOpenFromURLSpec() failed with error -10810. What to do? Sure, I have an Ubuntu session on my Macbook but it's too bad it doesn't work on Mac OS... JM Pouré, au secours ! |

Try opening up the Console and view the system log immediate after attempting to open kdenlive and see what the error message says. I have no idea if this is an issue for you but I had my XQuartz break on me after a security update and wasn't able to open kdenlive until I updated X11/XQuartz.

Sometimes kded4 does not start because dbus-system does not run properly immediately after install or upgrade even when you follow the directions. You can use ps in the terminal or Activity Monitor to see if it is running. Myself and another have found that after a reboot dbus-system is running properly as well as kde4 (after running kdeinit4, if needed). I do not know yet why a reboot was required, but please try that.
