Twitchy video problem

Wed Dec 01, 2010 4:30 pm
I've hit an odd snag on my video that causes the picture to twitch or zigzag (first video so I don't know the terminology) looking like the top of the image is pulled to the left and the bottom to the right. This started when I had 2 keyframes doing pan and zoom and I decided I wanted to zoom out rather than in. I assumed I could just drag the keyframes and switch them but that made kden very angry. So I deleted the effect and started over but this zigzag persists.

I tired deleting the clips, deleting the trasitions, deleting the effect and even re-importing the clips but the zigzag remains.

It seems to happen at a random point when viewed on the monitor but always around the dissolve into the next clip.

This is the last hurdle before finishing my video and I can't seem to fix it aside from having both clips with no dissolve and no effects (which is not an option).

Has anyone had a similar problem? If this is a known issue I apologise, I didn't know what to search for.

Are you using the composite transition? Because I think there were others also having this problem.

This is a bug in MLT that was fixed recently. There will be a new MLT release very soon, but it may not be picked up by packagers until the next Kdenlive release. I only noticed it when it when the rectangle was at small sizes, but that is not guaranteed due to the nature of the bug. Nevertheless, maybe if you increase the size on the keyframe containing the smaller sized; it will go away, and that would be the only workaround until you update.
