When I import my video I have a separate audio and video track. But when I try to trim it I cant because it say can't trim a group. How do I get the audio and video on same track so I can trim it?

I figured it out. I had the button on the bottom active about auto splitting video and audio

you can trim separate audio and video tracks you just need to ungroup them first but it sounds like you figured it out anyway and didn't want the audio and video tracks split.
