Icons substituted in KXStudio version of Kdenlive - or are they supposed to look that way?

Has anyone else encountered this? I installed KXStudio to get a working version of Kdenlive 0.7.8 with h264 options available, and it works really well. But many of the bespoke icons on buttons in Kdenlive seem to have been replaced by the little blue 'filmstrip' icon. For instance, the 'scissors' icon is still there, but most of the other icons on the bottom toolbar are now little blue filmstrip ones. The same is true of the icons on the left hand side of the individual timelines. This makes it hard to remember what functions the icons represent.

I've tried running bugfix updates but this hasn't altered it. I'm a bit wary of running all the available updates for the KXStudio release in case h264 (which is important to me) gets broken in the process.

Is the icon substitution thing a glitch or is Kdenlive supposed to look that way now? If it shouldn't be happening, is there any way of fixing it?

This is a problem I have seen when I run Kdenlive from SVN HEAD along side an older Kdenlive installed from packages. I am also using KXStudio, but I think that is more coincidence than anything. I suppose it could have been something in the package fixed by now because I no longer see it. I assume my head version running from home directory was trying to get icons from the system directory that did not yet exist. And then I received a package update that adds the newer icons to the system directory. In the meantime, you can use the tool tips to identify icons.

Hey Dan,

I noticed this issue only occurs when using a icon set other than Oxygen (or hi-color).
KXStudio uses the 'KXStudio' icon set (Oxygen derivate).

I tried to copy the kdenlive icons manually to right place, but kdenlive still doesnt show them...

For now, a simple work-around is to set the KDE icons to Oxygen

Hm... it seems like the latest stable release has this fixed...

I just opened 0.7.8 and the icons were fine. :)

BTW, I package mlt 0.6.0, and with swf support.
Enjoy the update

Thanks for the help with this - I will look into trying the Oxygen icon set and also to updating and see if it fixes things. I know it sounds funny, but I was a bit scared of letting updates run in case something else broke!
