I'm thinking of making gameplay videos for youtube and I was wondering how to setup the program for best quality.
For screen capture I will be using gtk-Recordmydesktop

not sure what aspect ratios or fps you'll get outta recordmydesktop. best settings for youtube are going to be encoding to h264/aac audio, you the profile between 4000k to 10000k 2 pass. that's what i use but i capture with an ancient dazzle hollywood dv bridge over firewire and capture it with kino to an uncompressed dv avi type 2 file. it's all about source video, if it's good then your render will turn out good, if its bad, rendering isn't gonna improve the quality at all!
