Hello,
Installed Kdenlive 0.7.8 and got a problem. Clip monitor dosn't play clips(just foggy gray colors and audio). Have to mention there's nothing wrong with clips, they are in .ogv format , and are healthy played by Movie player. What have I done wrong, how can i fix it. Thanks Best regards |

this seems to be a common problem all of a sudden. did you get the file from gtk-recordmydesktop? I tried importing a screen capture i created using gtk-recordmydesktop and kdenlive does the same thing with mine. Theres no visible video. WHat is weird is that movie player (totem) plays it fine. WEIRD
I'd also like to point out that when I try to run it through avidemux, it fails to open the file. That's all the error says, "Failed to load foo.ogv" Any thoughts? |

Yes, I used gtk-recordmydesktop for recording the clip. But did it only because, I got the same gray result by recording with kdenlive even thought the clips recored by kdenlive were healthy as well. Just the clip previewer didn't accept them.

My knowledges are bad, but cant it be caused be some earlier packages I already had. Read something about removing something. But i haven't figured out what and howto. I have only installed kndelive and some other packages(what were suggested).

This is a known bug. OGV does not work properly because of ffmpeg's poor support of seeking in ogv.
Have a look for example at this report: http://kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=1821 |

No, ffmpeg v0.5.x or 0.6.x includes the fix. And just because you compiled ffmpeg does not mean mlt and kdenlive are using its libs. You need to build mlt against it. You might want to try my build script:
