i also had this problem just yesterday. i was going to create a tutorial for something and wanted to add an intro and cut the beginning and then ending of my gtk-recordmydesktop .ogv file. only to find that when i add clip into kdenlive it adds it but there's no video (only black or white screen) and sound is horrid! i have since learned many new things. you could use ffmpeg to cut out a certain time frame of the video and audio (google this) if you wanted. I will say though, after spending much time trying to get avidemux, devede, or even handbrake to open this .ogv file and convert it to something kdenlive could decode was just not working out and it starting wasting my time. I could just as esily create a new screen capture in less then 10 mins using other screencasting software.
I then found a new solution, merely using ffmpeg command from the command line i could get a mk4 file or whatever i am sure and that's what i am going to be trying when i get home today. the guide for screencasting correctly (according to the author) is right here. Good luck http://verb3k.wordpress.com/2010/01/26/how-to-do-proper-screencasts-on-linux/ |
