Hi,
I need to copy a PAL DVD into an NTSC DVD. I want to play it on my NTSC T.V. I do need to preserve the menus of the original DVD because it has language selection for different dubbing. Can Kdenlive do it? If yes, how? I'm new to Kdenlive. Thanks, |

Kdenlive should be able to transfer PAL to NTSC but it cannot do anything about the DVD structure. Might be possible with a DVD authoring software though.

There a way better tools (read: specialised) for dvd-conversions, a non-lineair editor like kdenlive should not be your first choice for that purpose.
And please note there is no such thing as a ntsc or pal dvd, these are analogue standards for colour component modulation, they have no meaning in digital video. What you probably mean is dvd manufactured for the usa (resolution: 720x480, frame rate 30000/1001 aka 29.97 frames per second) vs. a dvd manufactured for a.o. european countries (720x576, frame rate 25 fps). |

most people with at least intermediate level of knowledge of digital video understand what it means when someone writes NTSC and PAL DVD - no need to be staunch here.
