grr, just wrote all this and lost it, never the same second time around.....

Just updated to latest everything on my Ubuntu 10.10, using sunab svn.

Opened an existing project and was told it was going to be updated to latest format etc, ok, no problem.

Tried adding a speed effect, but I'm getting options for something else entirely. Last time I used the speed effect, I just put a percentage in, now Im getting key frame options etc and all nothing to do with speed!

Tested this on a new project and an existing one that had a speed effect already in, same result.

Any ideas? Or am I just going mad!?

Just changed from svn ppa (0.8.1) to release ppa (0.8) and reinstalled kdenlive, all is now fine, so something has broken since then.

I don't know if you are going mad, but the UI for the speed effect does seem all wrong in rev 5598. Also it's listed as an audio effect instead of a video one. The info for it reads "Process audio using a SoX effect."

thanks for confirming, I had noticed the description being wrong. That seems to be the description for most of the effects under "misc" also. Should there be audio effects under "Misc" I wonder, or should they all be under audio

I will log a bug report for this now

Fixed in Kdenlive's recent svn (5603). That was caused by the recent support of listing available SOX effects in MLT. Please note that all the new autodetected SOX effects are listed but do not work yet.
