OK, maybe not completely sample accurate (as there is usually a physical difference between the camera mic and your other mics), but still:
With the current kdenlive it is only possible to move audio clips a frame at a time, which in my case is around 33mS. I would like to be able to sync the externally recorded audio with an accuracy to less than a frame, using the recorded camera audio also. It is easy to line up within at least a few mS, looking at the spikes from the clapboard. I know I can do this externally (e.g. by exporting the camera audio, using a wave editor to find the exact clap points and then cutting and resizing the externally recorded audio to start at a frame boundary -- but this is a bit cumbersome and requires manual calculations etc). One simple way to do this would to be able to set the audio starting point to ("crop start") to something more accurate than a sample, but that seems to be not supported by kdenlive. Alternatively it could be done with a delay filter inserted on the audio, but that is maybe also a bit laborious. Any good alternatives or ideas? Or maybe this could be added as a feature request to kdenlive? -- Per. |

I suggest opening a feature request in our tracker (if there not already is one).
